ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY, AUGUST 21! 

Additional Requirements:

Essay- Dancers in grades 6-12, you are invited to write an essay describing your commitment to the Nutcracker Production, Dance, and the Performing Arts. Tell us what you feel you can contribute to the Nutcracker Production and explain what qualities you will bring to any specific roles you want to request. This essay is optional, but is helpful to the Director and Choreographers as they make casting decisions.

Solo- Dancers in High School  (boys and girls) are invited to prepare a solo no more than 3 minutes long. Solos are optional, but are a great way to show the Director and Choreographers your strengths and individual style. They are helpful to the audition team as they make casting decisions.

Be prompt, auditions will start on time!

We make no bones about it- this is a commitment!

Parental Involvement – for a production this size, it is a MUST. Everyone will be asked to volunteer. Expect to volunteer at least 5-6 Saturday/Sundays in November and early December. Potluck Style "Food Table" contributions are also required during Tech Week and Shows. Additionally, there are (2) Mandatory Parent Meetings on September 6th and November 1st. ALL adult volunteers MUST complete the KPBSD volunteer screening application.

Time Commitment –This is a 14-week project.  Performers are required to attend all scheduled rehearsals. Please be aware that November through show time is CRITICAL for all rehearsals. NO MISSED REHEARSALS DURING THIS TIME!

All Calls are scheduled for: November 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23.

Tech Week will run: November 28 – December 4

Shows are scheduled for: December 5,  6 (two shows),  7,  10,  12, 13.

Cast Party on December 14.

Cost: 

There is a $150* general participation fee for student performers. 

For Corps dancers, the fee is $200*

(The higher fee is due to the extra rehearsal time & space these hard-working dancers need.)

*Some scholarships may be available. 

These fees include the rehearsal/choreography, make-up, hair, and costuming fees for a 14-week production

Additional Costs: 

Girls: Performance Tights and Shoes- We will let you know specifics regarding tights and shoe styles once roles have been announced. (approx.$50). 

Boys: White form fitting tank top, black sweatpants and black ballet slippers (approx. $50).       

Make-up: Most performers will be asked to supply their own foundation that is 2-shades darker than skin tone and a good supply of make-up wipes. All other make-up will be provided.
